Seaside Retreat

We undertook this project in Point Loma originally as part of a spec remodel of an existing residence. Halfway through landscape construction, the property was sold to the current owner who wanted his home to function as his retreat from a hectic work and travel schedule. The backyard features a contemporary coastal “spa day” theme, while the front yard features a Japanese-inspired sanctuary and entry sequence motif, comprised of traditional Japanese rock compositions reminiscent of the local offshore islands, with the plant material groupings representing the the ocean’s many moods.
